Support for Navigating the Academy

I’ve been through every stage of the academic ladder, from assistant to associate to full professor, and I’ve served as Department Chair of a high-demand, high-enrollment graduate program. Along the way, I’ve secured over $3 million in external grant funding and led initiatives focused on student access, equity, and program development.

I moved through the ranks quickly, propelled by a mix of strategy and a personality attuned to the unspoken demands of the system. That pace came with both benefits and costs. It taught me how to navigate the emotional and political terrain of academia, especially as someone holding marginalized identities. I’ve made mistakes, learned from them, and carry a deep respect for the vulnerability it takes to lead with integrity inside institutions that often weren’t built with us in mind.

I understand both the visible and invisible labor required to survive in higher education, and I support others in doing so with more clarity, care, and sustainability.

More than any title or metric, I hold close the relational and ethical complexity of this work: the tensions of leading, teaching, and staying rooted in one’s values within systems that can be both generative and extractive.

Mentorship and Consulting that Sees the Whole You

What I Offer

I provide mentorship and consulting for people in academia who are seeking:

  • Support in preparing for tenure or promotion

  • Guidance through departmental or institutional challenges

  • Clarity around purpose and direction

  • A space to reflect without having to hold it all alone

I am particularly interested in working with women, nonbinary, and queer people of color in higher education. My approach is warm, relational, and deeply attuned to the lived realities of academic life. I support the wholeness of who you are as you move through this complex system.

If you're seeking strategic insight, grounded reflection, or simply someone who gets it, I’d love to be in conversation.

Please note: My consulting and mentorship offerings are not a clinical services and do not constitute therapy. While I bring my experience as a therapist into how I listen and offer support, this space is not meant for processing personal mental health concerns. If you're seeking therapeutic support, feel free to visit my therapy page to learn more. While I offer mentorship and consulting to individuals and organizations regardless of location, I can only provide individual therapy to clients who reside in the state of Oregon.

My mentorship and consulting work are offered on a sliding scale based on career stage, in recognition of the different levels of access and compensation across academia:

  • Graduate students: $60/hour

  • Assistant professors: $150/hour

  • Associate professors: $180/hour

  • Full professors: $200/hour

  • Academic leadership consulting: $250/hour
