Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in our first session?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for in therapy, and what you need to feel safe and supported. We’ll always move at a pace that feels right for you.

How long are sessions and how often will we meet?

Sessions are 50 minutes long. Most people start with weekly sessions, but we can adjust frequency based on your needs and capacity.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

I currently offer virtual sessions, and I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for telehealth.

What are your licensing credentials?

I am a registered professional counselor associate with the Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and hold the additional credential of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).

I receive regular clinical supervision from Kerri Anderson-Linde, MS, LPC (Oregon/C3110).

Can I work with you if I’m not in Oregon?

Due to licensing laws, I can only offer therapy services to clients who are physically located in Oregon at the time of our sessions.

What are your fees? What about insurance?

My standard rate is $180 per 50-minute session. While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Some insurance plans reimburse services provided by professional counselor associates, while others do not, so I encourage you to check with your insurance company about your specific out-of-network benefits.

Limited sliding scale appointments are available based on financial need and availability. Please feel free to reach out if my current rate would otherwise be a barrier to beginning therapy.

In accordance with the No Surprises Act, I will provide a Good Faith Estimate before we start working together. This estimate helps you understand and plan for the potential costs of therapy.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

That’s a great question, and part of why I offer an initial consultation. I encourage you to trust your instincts. Therapy works best when you feel seen, safe, and connected. If it turns out I’m not the right fit, I’m happy to offer referrals to someone who might be. If I don’t have the training or experience to meet your needs, I’ll let you know as soon as possible.

How do I pay for sessions?

I accept credit and debit cards, including HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. I keep a card on file for each client, and if you haven’t paid ahead of time, I charge it automatically after our sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed sessions where you haven’t notified me you won’t be attending, will be charged the full session fee. I understand that life happens, so if there’s an emergency or something truly unavoidable, please let me know and we can talk about it.

I offer free consultations to see if we’re a good fit. I’d love to hear from you.
